There is no doubt about the fact that physical development of a growing child accelerates his or her academic performance too. The CBSE too has taken steps to add extra time for physical activities to combat the problems of childhood obesity. In a healthy body resides a healthy mind. It is, therefore necessary that the students participate in sports and games. The school curriculum makes it mandatory for every student to participate in sports activities. The students imbibe the qualities of courage and determination, learn to abide by the rules and norms of the games and above all, they inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship, revel in their victory and celebrate the triumph of their opponents.
The school follows the house system in which the students of Class I to XII are allotted a house. Each house is mastered by a Mentor House Master and student House Captain & Vice Captain. The Houses conduct In-House Activities during House Assembly and the selected house representatives participate in Inter-House activities.This inculcates team spirit in them and at the same time motivate them to work for excel in each activity.
TRIPS & EXCURSTIONS
An excursion engages, educates and enhances classroom teaching. Fests, farewells, exams, competitions, tours, picnics are all part of school life. Trips and visits to places of educational importance are among the exciting activities of school. Educational tours are organized to give an insight into the world of knowledge beyond classroom. The students learn to adapt to the real life situations and develop compatibility towards their peers. The lessons learnt during these trips remain imprinted in their minds forever.
YOGA AND MEDITATION
Yoga helps kids to develop body awareness, learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way, manage stress through.
Karate is a striking art in which you face an opponent face to face and then block and weaken his blows while striking with maximum impact until you can incapacitate your opponent.
The school assembly is held everyday. The important conducts of this assembly are- Prayer, Shlok, Pledge, Thought of the day, News Headlines, School song, Student’s Talk, Teacher’s Talk, Birthday Song and National Anthem.
We in Rising Star School educate our students with the importance of trees in our life. The students are encouraged to preserve trees which play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance and that it’s the responsibility of everyone to not only grow trees but also taking care and protecting them.
DANCE & MUSIC
Dance is a wonderful form of art. It brings out the soul in the self, and music helps to bring this art form to life. The need to integrate dance as a part of co-curricular activity in school inculcates in the students, the urge to retain the unique cultural identity in all its diversity and richness. The students are encouraged to explore the various dance forms thereby helping them to become creative and liberal thinkers who appreciate the variety of artistic traditions.
